At least for now they do. I’m sure once I decide to have my own lil buggers, that may not be the case (now..now…hold your horses mom and dad…that WON’T be happening any time soon)
There’s something about children. I LOVE them. I love playing with them, talking to them, laughing with them…playing on their level. It’s true…without my encounters with children, I don’t know how sane I would be. I guess you could argue…I’m already a lil off my rocker…but for now, we’ll just assume the former (or is it the latter?…I’m never quite sure). It’s the youthful spirit that children (and some adults) have that draw me in like a tractor beam. They have no reservations about keeping things interesting by doing the silliest things possible.
I’ll be walking down the street and spot lil babies, toddlers and other youngens a mile away. My favorite is when they do that kid-like stare– their mouths slightly open…and if I make enough silly faces and squeak my voice, they’ll crack a tiny grin…shyly pressing their face into mommy’s arm, or daddy’s neck. Their fascination with my silly faces and wide toothy smile is what keeps them entertained…I think. That or they’re thinkin’, “This lady is KUH-ray-Zee!” Either way, I know how to amuse them. We understand each other, and I’m not ashamed to say so. I’m happy that I have that same youthful spirit and optimism.
Omar knows that crazy, sudden pep in my step when I spot an adorable kiddie….all too well…and if I observe long enough, then shoot him a quick glance for approval…he quickly adds, “Hey now, don’t get any silly ideas.”
I got my minor in education because I loved working with kids so much. If I wasn’t pursuing my dream of being a full time photographer, i’d be working with children…mentoring, perhaps being a teacher. I try to be involved in programs with children when I can, or just try to spend time with children I know. Maybe it’s also my non threatening nature…let’s face it…I’m not the type of person to intimidate. I’m sure my size is a factor as well. Hey, being fun-size has it’s perks!
Here’s a bunch of pictures from In N out after Jeff’s graduation. Jeff and Vanessa’s adorable little girl, Averee always brings a smile to my face. And, her uncle…well…let’s just say the camera LOVES him! How cool is that to grow up with your uncle?! I wish I could have had that kind of experience. I have a feeling he’s going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up (If he isn’t already…that playground better watch out).
I discovered a little nook with gorgeous light coming through the window and immediately started snapping photos of Omar. I Love em! I’ve realized that natural back lighting is becoming my signature technique. It’s my favorite!

And now...meet Averee!

AND...the cutest lil uncle in the world!
Put them together, and this is what you get! (I didn’t have to ask them to do anything…if anything, I had to keep up with THEM)

this one was my absolute favorites!

2nd favorite

After editing, I found these…and realized…we’re no different… haha! Its one of the many things I love about him…his ability to be let loose and be silly with me <3. Vanessa’s brother, Fern took these. Thanks again
