I am the artist before I am the photographer, and that makes all the difference in my photographs.

I have an absolute true inner joy and passion for both.

That moment of artistry before I snap the shutter, is the moment of composition, and its the split second before the moment is frozen in time forever.

My whole heart is in capturing the true essence of every moment, while fusing the concepts of beauty, life, art, and purpose. My youthful optimism allows me to see beauty beyond outside appearances and evoke the enchanting charm each image has to offer. My work also reflects the intimate connection I have with my surroundings, my love for life and people, and my increasing fascination with color all with a timeless style of sophistication.

In actuality when you hire your photographer, you are inviting them to share what your Wedding day looks like through their artistic eyes.

From the moment I received my first camera (which came in a very stylish florescent pink) at the age of twelve, I was intrigued by the process of creating photographic images. From that very young age, I promised I’d make a career in something I loved. No matter how many people told me that I could get nowhere with art…I pushed on.

Having come from an artistically enriched childhood and with the loving support of my family, I majored in Art (emphases in Photography and Painting) for four years and got my bachelors (with a minor in education) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In a lot of ways, painting strengthened my photography.
For three years I filled the role of Photographer for a daily newspaper, worked my way up as Assistant Photo Editor, and finally became Photo Editor. It was here that my photojournalistic/ documentary style evolved into what it is today. I have also had my work featured in various publications/newspapers within the city of Santa Barbara (i.e. Santa Barbara Independent) as well as other publications such as ESPN magazine.

I cant imagine a more rewarding environment in which to capture the glorious range and blends of emotions, anticipation, joy, and love. I’m probably just as excited as you are for your wedding.

The true method to my madness is forming a real connection with you so that I can zero in on those special moments naturally. In a truly candid manner.  Empathy is one of my strongest traits and it serves as an asset to my photography. This is why I give very little to no posing instruction, even during portrait sessions.
